UYIR Trust and Sri Sai Ranganathan Engineering College, Coimbatore, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 13 October 2026 at LMW Limited, Coimbatore, to strengthen road safety awareness and encourage student participation in road safety initiatives.

The MoU was exchanged by Capt. Satish R, Head – Administration, LMW Limited, and Dr. Kesavasamy, Head of the Department of Humanities, Sri Sai Ranganathan Engineering College. The collaboration marks a step towards strengthening engagement between UYIR and educational institutions to promote responsible road behaviour among students.

Empowering Students Through Road Safety Education

The collaboration aims to encourage students to become responsible road users and active road safety ambassadors within their institutions and communities. By promoting road safety awareness and student participation, the initiative seeks to build a stronger understanding of traffic rules, safe mobility practices and the importance of protecting human life.

Educational institutions play a vital role in shaping responsible attitudes and behaviours among young people. Through collaborations such as this, UYIR seeks to create opportunities for students to engage with road safety initiatives and carry essential safety messages beyond the campus into their families and wider communities.

Working Towards Zero Accidents in Coimbatore

This partnership supports UYIR’s broader mission of reducing road accidents through education, awareness and community participation. By bringing educational institutions into the road safety movement, UYIR aims to nurture a generation that understands road safety as a shared responsibility. The initiative contributes to UYIR’s vision of “Vibathilla Kovai – Zero Accidents in Coimbatore”, encouraging collective action towards safer roads and more responsible communities.

Through continued collaboration with educational institutions and other stakeholders, UYIR remains committed to empowering young people to make safer choices, promote responsible road behaviour and become advocates for a future where every life is valued.
